Libretto’s Brings a Slice of the Big Apple to Jacksonville
Popular Manhattan eatery expands to the First Coast

Jacksonville, FL (June 8, 2010) – In the past, if Jacksonville residents wanted a slice of true, authentic New York City pizza, they had to make the 950-plus mile trip to the Big Apple. Beginning this fall, that trip will be much, much shorter with the opening of Libretto’s Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen at The Markets at Town Center.

Owner Mike Libretto has been serving up slices for years to the toughest pizza critics in the world – New Yorkers – at his Manhattan pizzeria. Using his success in New York as a springboard, Libretto’s opened two restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now his sites are set on Jacksonville.

As good as the pizza is, Libretto’s offers more than just pies. The restaurant also features classic, homemade Italian favorites such as chicken parmigiana, penne alla vodka, baked ziti, spaghetti marinara and lasagna as well as heros and calzones for lunch and dinner. Mike Libretto’s family has spent over 30 years in the restaurant industry, although their passion for cooking goes back generations; so do the recipes at Libretto’s.

“The marinara is made the way my Grandmother always made it; the meatballs are made exactly as Mom would make them every Sunday,” says Libretto. “I took the recipes as my family made them throughout my childhood and proudly serve them to our customers today at Libretto’s.”

Libretto’s is the first true, authentic New York City pizzeria in Jacksonville – bringing the delicious crust, melted cheese and perfect sauce that are staples of the Big Apple to the First Coast. In addition to pizza, Libretto’s is proud to serve third generation family-style Italian classics, fresh from the oven calzones and tempting desserts in a casual, comfortable setting. Whether it’s a quick lunch on-the-go, a quiet dinner for two or an evening out with the entire family, Libretto’s Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen is sure to satisfy.
